Little Dragons:
Ages 4 years - 6 years

We love our little ones! Our expert instructors know how kid's work. They need something fun and exciting, but most importantly, entertaining! We know they're still growing, so we focus on coaching them in developing important life skills such as self-discipline and self-control that will carry over to home and school. The confidence boost that comes out of these kids after participating is unmatched!

The physical is another part. Our little dragons will also develop some gross and fine motor coordination skills participating in this full-body sport.

This class is taught by Sensei Sickles and our Junior Instructors, Senpai Jake and Senpai Gavin who have been training at OKKA for about 10 years.

Junior Basic Program: Ages 7 years - 13 years

Our newcomers are near and dear to us. We know everyone learns differently, so variety, adaptability, and intensity are what we strive to provide. Our instructors tailor our classes to meet the needs of all students, no matter the difference.

This class combines self-defense with traditional martial arts to give students both authentic and real-life experiences all while participating in a great workout. Nothing says "cool kid" like growing in strength, speed, and coordination.

This class is taught by Sensei Sickles and our Junior Instructors, Senpai Jake and Senpai Gavin.

Adults & Teens: 
Ages 14+

Who says adults can't play too? Reap the benefits of all our kids classes, but made to satisfy the adult brain. Go a little deeper into bunkai (the analysis and interpretation of martial arts movement) and still get that workout

All ages, all shapes, all size are welcome in our dojo. Our adult classes have more than one purpose. We wish to provide knowledge of self-defense, a sense of community with fellow students, and a boost in overall fitness. Oh, by the way, this class is also a good stress reliever.

This class is taught by Sensei Sickles.

Capoeira:
Ages 16+

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art combining both martial arts and dance together. You will also learn traditional Brazilian songs related to Capoeira and even learn to play Brazilian instruments. Once you've put in your work, receive a personal Capoeira name that reflects your personality given by your classmates and "Instutor" (teacher).

Known for it's acrobatic style, Capoeira is, at the very least, a great workout. It's great for balance, flexibility, and core strength. It's a great class for anyone looking to do something beyond just Karate.

This class is taught by Sensei/Instrutor Ryan "Formiga" Sickles, Graduado Rob "Urso" McAdams, and Graduado Jordan "Quati" Bermudez who have all been practicing Capoeira for over 15 years.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA):
Ages 16+

Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA, is a full-contact sport that focuses on techniques from multiple disciplines such as grappling, chokes, take downs, throws, kicks, and punches. We like to think of MMA as the "real-life" karate.

 

Although we don't have an MMA cage in our dojo, we still get down and dirty on our floor mats. We ask that only ages 16+ years participate since it's a little more aggressive than the average martial art. 

This class is taught by Sensei Sickles who has been cross training his whole karate career.
